Mr. Carpentier came to JLL through the acquisition of Merritt & Harris (M&H) by JLL in 2016. As head of the cost group, his responsibilities include providing expert comprehensive cost analysis to lenders and the real estate community for construction projects, determining replacement costs and insurable values, and analyzing the developer’s and contractor’s hard and soft cost budgets.

Prior to joining Merritt & Harris, Mr. Carpentier headed a construction firm begun by his father, Carmine Carpentier Inc. The design/build space firm performed standard construction services with Mr. Carpentier having the responsibility of being the Architect-of-Record.

From 1989-1991, Mr. Carpentier was an independent consultant in Staten Island, NY, and worked as an estimator on office, apartment, and industrial projects valued from 10-100 million dollars. The services he provided included preparing and presenting revised budgets and reviewing schedules for planning, design, and construction.

From 1987-1989, Mr. Carpentier was employed as a cost estimator at Merritt & Harris, New York.  His duties included analyzing construction budgets and establishing insurable values and replacement costs.

Mr. Carpentier has a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Pratt Institute, New York, and holds a Certificate in Real Estate Development from New York University.  He is a registered Architect in the State of New York.
