Margaret Asimakis, P.E., LEED AP

Ms. Asimakis came to JLL through the acquisition of Merritt & Harris (M&H) by JLL in 2016. As head of both the Plan & Cost Review group as well as the Structural Engineering group, she leads these teams to support the Construction Monitoring and Property Condition Assessment Groups of M&H.  Her responsibilities include the coordination of disciplines during the initial review of construction related documents and budget review, the field observation of existing properties and the identification of building deficiencies and deferred maintenance items, and the costing of repairs and means to rectify the deficiencies observed.

Prior to M&H, Ms. Asimakis worked as a Senior Engineer at Thornton Tomasetti, Inc., where her services included analysis and design of structural elements and systems and production of construction documents (drawings, specifications, and sequence of work for construction), field inspections to investigate and analyze structural damages, deterioration, and failures on commercial, residential, and institutional projects, construction administration and review and approval of change orders, and monitoring and reporting on code compliance and engineering standards. She also conducted feasibility studies, due diligence reports, condition surveys and reports, as well as research and preparation for expert witness support for engineering cases in litigation.

Ms. Asimakis holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, in Troy, NY and a Masters of Science in Structural Engineering from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA (concentration in earthquake engineering). She is a Licensed Professional Engineer and a LEED Accredited Professional. She is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and a Graduate Member of the Institute of Structural Engineers (UK).
